Don’t Cry Because It’s Over. Smile Because It Happened.

Andres Iniesta

So the moment has passed. Andres Iniesta has declared that he is leaving the club. He’s confirmed that he won’t play in Europe after this season as he doesn’t want to face the club of his life.

He said that the club deserves the best of him and that he’s leaving because he can’t offer it anymore. I would vehemently disagree with it, as he can still boss the midfield in big games with proper rest and be a guiding light for the younger players for the next season or two. However he has all the rights to decide his future, having been a tireless and loyal servant of the club and he is under no obligation to sit and try fixing Barto’s mess.

I am too numb to write anything more. No amount of words would do justice to convey what he means to me and to the club. A mumble of “gracias por todo” is the best I can come up with.

I can’t believe that only Messi, Busquets and Pique are left from the 2011 dream team. Just have to enjoy them playing the game as long as they are here and need to start hoarding up antidepressants to deal with their serial departures in 4–5 years.

However it isn’t over. One day, Iniesta has to come back to the club in some capacity. Till then, enjoy the rest of your career Don Andres! Hope that you get a special send off this season- a historic unbeaten league campaign.

Even when the title of this post is asking to smile, it is hard for me to smile. This is what I will be like for the next few days:

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is one hell of an anime

(off topic- Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is one hell of an anime. All time favorite animated show along with Avatar The Last Airbender)
